2) At some point, you felt the need to leave your home state of Massachusetts to live the dream in Southern California, how did that transpire?A) Joe Weider offered Kerry and I to come out to Orange County. That way I could be closer to the magazines. Kerry, Scrappy (my dog) and I all packed up and headed out to Cali.
3) What part of being in California during those early days do you miss the most training wise and lifestyle?A) I miss the great weather year round. Training wise I miss the outdoor gyms, like Gold's Venice.
4) To what would you attribute your drive and focus regarding "staying the course" in order to win in the face of many whom felt you would be a good bodybuilder and a Great Bodybuilder?A) I would attribute it all to my family. My father and brothers for teaching me the way of the "Blue collar" work ethics. My friends, who are my 2nd family ALWAYS support me.
5) Being married throughout your bodybuilding endeavors to your wife Kerry, share with us how that was an asset to you ultimately becoming Mr. Olympia?A) Kerry has been the biggest asset to me in this journey. She has been there to support me through the good and the bad. She does it all with me trains with me, helps with all of my meals, helps with our site:
www.jaycutler.com. Kerry is my back bone, without her I would not be 3 Time Mr. Olympia!
6) Of your many victories in Bodybuilding both Amateur and Professional, which one stands out the most and why?A) The 2009 Mr. Olympia was the one Victory in which I will never forget. It is historic, I rewrote history and I will never forget how great it was to prove to everyone that I am still here!
7) Tell me about your first encounter with "The Boss" Steve Blechman here at MD?A) August 1995 I won the NPC Tournament of Championships in Redondo Beach, Ca. Steve had received some pictures of me. He flew me out to Long Island, NY to discuss a possible contract with Twinlabs. Since then I have developed a great relationship with him. He has featured me in his magazine Muscular Development for so many years now including a few Cover Shots.
This is your second time around with Team MD, I'm certain the time away has been rewarding to you as you grew and matured. What do you hope to accomplish regarding your interaction with the Fans here at MD and any other ambitions you might have?A) I want to establish myself as the face of body building as well as MD. I am hoping to reach out to a whole new fan base, all those MD readers! I am very excited about all the new opportunities and all of the maximum exposure. I truly believe that MD is a perfect fit for Jay Cutler, it's simply a "Cut Above" the competition!
9) You're now a 3 Time Arnold Classic Champion and 3 Time Mr. Olympia to go along with your numerous other Pro Titles, share with us a little bit of what it's like to be you on the Negative Side of things, the "Pit falls" of being Number One?A) I feel there are no "pit falls" being #1 because in my mind, I am the #1 body builder on the planet! I refuse to listen to the negative feedback. I am here to represent as the #1 contender, Athlete and Ambassador. The word "IMPOSSIBLE" does not exists in my world.
10) What are the benefits to being Jay Cutler, not the Pro Football Player? LolA) I am just living the dream. I am doing things the way I love to do them. I am a role model, a teacher and an inspiration to a huge fan base around the world. I am self made. Every move I make has strategy and meaning to it. I developed a legacy that can never be duplicated.
11) You have been residing in Las Vegas, Nevada for several years now which is a long way from Mass, how is it for you, your wife and dogs living there?A) Living in Vegas is great. It's a 24 hour city, with great support for local celebrities. I have an amazing home with a huge yard for the dogs. Kerry has a great job here as a nurse practitioner which she loves. The weather is one of my favorite parts. Of course it is the home of the Olympia, so you got to love that right?!
12) What would be a "Typical Day in the Life" for Jay?A) Typical day is waking up at 8am- Eat, Train, Work, Eat, Eat, Eat and Sleep at 1 am.
13) Can you share with us 3 things that you think Bodybuilding needs or maybe missing to improve the sport?A) 1. It needs more exposure through more sponsors 2. It needs more media coverage on up to date media service like Television 3. It needs more direction/ structure for the Athletes. This way, it secures them of a solid way of living balanced lives.
14) Do you have any brothers or sisters and what do they think of what you have become?A) Yes, I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters. They of course are all very supportive and very proud of me.
15) What kind of Cars are you driving now and what is your number one "Hobby" outside of bodybuilding?A) I have a Mercedes, BMW and an Escalade right now. My hobby is sports. I love basketball and football.
16) What would your advice to a young teenage bodybuilder getting started sound like in the game today?A) My advice would have to be focus on building a physique properly through diet and basic training. Now a day's everyone wants everything so quickly. "There are no short cuts in life" Body building is all about commitment, dedication, perseverance, and continuous hard work. It is a life style. You must live it 24/7 to see the best results.
17) Can you share with us your thoughts on "Female Bodybuilding /Fitness/Bikini & Figure?"A) Women's bodybuilding and Fitness has taken a back seat to the Bikini & Figure. The most exposure is definitely coming from Bikini & Figure. It seems like no women are getting involved with these competitions because it's less taxing on the body.

www.jaycutlersvt.com19) Can you tell us what we can expect come "Mr. Olympia 2010" preparation?"A) I am hoping to be better the 2009 Mr. O with the best combination of symmetry, mass and definition ever displayed on the MR.O stage.
20) What would your "Timeless Mr. Olympia Call Out" look like if you could bring out 5 other Bodybuilders onstage to compare with you from all the Generations in the history of our sport?A) 1. Jay Cutler 2. Ronnie Coleman 3. Dorian Yates 4. Lee Haney 5. Sergio Oliva
